🌳 A BIG Shout-Out to Pablito’s Landscaping & Pavers! 🌳

We need to clear up a little case of mistaken lawn identity around here. 😂

You know that stretch of grass between our trees and the public street? The one that occasionally gets a little… wild and free? 🌾😬

Well, plot twist: it isn’t actually Destin High School property - it’s Okaloosa county property!

We know this because when it gets a little shaggy, our phones sometimes start ringing with friendly reminders that “the school needs to cut its grass.” 😂 And believe us - we see it too!

The reality is that the county has a BIG job and limited manpower. There are only about 10 employees serving this entire end of the county, which means a whole lot of territory for a small crew to maintain. We make the calls, but sometimes our little stretch of paradise just has to wait its turn.

And THAT is where amazing community partners step in. 💙

Today, Pablito’s Landscaping & Pavers, owned by DHS parent and friend of the school Sandra Loggans, came out and said, essentially, “We’ve got it.”

And they sure did.

They cleaned up the entire county-owned area, mowed it, cleaned it up, AND trimmed the trees - making both the county property and the entrance to Destin High School look fantastic.

And here’s the best part:

They donated the work. ❤️

This isn’t the first time Pablito’s has stepped up for DHS, either. They also donated the labor to install the engraved bricks in our courtyard and continue to generously donate services when our school needs a helping hand.

That is what community partnership looks like.

So today, we’re giving a VERY BIG, VERY PUBLIC THANK YOU to Sandra and the Pablito’s Landscaping & Pavers team. We are incredibly grateful to have businesses in our community that don’t just work here - they invest in the people and schools that call this place home.

And since they take such good care of us, we’re more than happy to give them a shameless plug! 😎
