What Is the Golden Shark Tooth Hunt?

The Golden Shark Tooth Hunt is a citywide, scavenger-style treasure hunt that runs for 8 weeks. Each week, one participating restaurant hosts a cryptic clue that helps lead players to the final hidden location of the Golden Shark Tooth.

Important: Clues are not posted online during the featured restaurant’s week.
If you want the clue early, you must discover it in person.

After the exclusive restaurant week ends, all clues will be publicly displayed at Graffiti Pizza (and then shared online).

How to Play (Step-by-Step)

🦈 Step 1: Follow the Hunt

Each week, Destin High School will announce the Featured Restaurant hosting that week’s clue through:

• Destin High School website

• Facebook & Instagram

• ParentSquare

• Community partner pages

📌 Clues are NOT posted online until after the featured restaurant’s week has ended.

🍴 Step 2: Visit the Featured Restaurant

During that week, visit the featured restaurant sponsor to locate the clue.

• Clues are displayed in a public, clearly marked area

• No purchase is required to view the clue

• Participants may take photos or notes for personal use

🧩 Step 3: Solve the Clue

Each clue is:

• Cryptic and challenging

• Tied to Destin’s history, landmarks, or culture

• Designed to build on previous clues

Solving the hunt may require research, local knowledge, and teamwork.

📅 Step 4: Repeat Each Week

A new clue is released once per week for 8 weeks, each hosted by a different restaurant.
To stay competitive:

• Visit each weekly location

• Track and save all clues

• Work toward the final solution

✅ After the exclusive week ends, each clue will be publicly displayed at Graffiti Pizza.

🗺️ Step 5: Find the Golden Shark Tooth

After all 8 clues are released and solved, participants can determine the final location of the Golden Shark Tooth.

The Golden Shark Tooth will be hidden:

• In a safe, publicly accessible location

• With no trespassing and no unsafe behavior required

• With no digging, climbing, or risky actions needed

⚠️ If the Golden Shark Tooth is discovered before all 8 clues are released, the game ends.

🏆 Step 6: Claim the Prize

The first person to find the Golden Shark Tooth must:

1. Secure the Shark Tooth

2. Take a photo at the discovery location

3. Contact the Destin High School point of contact immediately

The winner receives 52 free meals (one per week for one year):

• One slice of pizza + one cold soda each week

• Meals provided by Graffiti Pizza, Destin

• Meal value, redemption rules, and any expiration terms are determined by Graffiti Pizza

• Prize is non-transferable and has no cash value

Destin High School is seeking 8 local restaurant sponsors to host one clue each.

Sponsorship Contribution: $500 per restaurant

What Your Restaurant Receives

✔ One full week as the Featured Clue Location
Participants must physically come into your restaurant during your assigned week to view the clue early.

✔ Increased Foot Traffic
Families, locals, and visitors will visit throughout the week to stay active in the hunt.

✔ High-Visibility Promotion
Your restaurant will be spotlighted across Destin High School communication channels, including:

• School digital signage

✔ In-Restaurant Marketing Materials Provided

You’ll be recognized as an official supporter of Destin High School and local education.

No Purchase Required — But Engagement Is High

There is no purchase required for participants to view clues. However, experience shows that dining traffic naturally increases as participants visit restaurants to stay active in the hunt.

1. Eligibility

• No purchase or donation required

• Purchasing food or drinks does not increase chances of winning

3. How to Participate

4. Clue Availability

• Only one clue is released per week

• Destin High School reserves the right to adjust clue availability if needed

5. Finding the Golden Shark Tooth

• Hidden in a publicly accessible, safe location

• No digging, climbing, trespassing, or unsafe behavior required

• First person to locate and secure the Shark Tooth is the winner (pending verification)

6. Claiming the Prize
To claim the prize, the finder must:

• Secure the Golden Shark Tooth

• Take a photo at the discovery location

• Contact the Destin High School POC immediately (info above)
  Failure to follow these steps may delay or invalidate the claim.

7. Prize Details

• 52 free meals (one per week for one year): one slice + one cold soda

• Redemption rules/value/expiration set by Graffiti Pizza

• Non-transferable; no cash value

8. Conduct Expectations
Participants must:

• Respect restaurant staff, patrons, and property

• Avoid disruptive or unsafe behavior
  Destin High School reserves the right to disqualify participants who violate these rules.

• Participants assume all risks associated with travel, movement, and participation.

• Restaurants are not responsible for clue interpretation, participant actions, or prize fulfillment beyond their agreed sponsorship.

• Destin High School reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the hunt if necessary for safety or unforeseen circumstances.

• By participating, individuals agree to release and hold harmless Destin High School and all associated parties.
